António Miguel Pinheiro Botelho Moniz, nasceu em Santo Tirso com ascendência notória no campo da fotografia, por parte do seu avô paterno. Começou a fotografar com o intuito do simples registo fotográfico, que iniciou na sua viagem aos zero graus do Circulo Polar Antárctico. Com o avançar do seu maior interesse nesta área, começou a dedicar-se com mais premência à fotografia, fazendo principalmente a cobertura fotográfica de todas as suas viagens, frequentando ao mesmo tempo diversos cursos e workshops de fotografia.
 
 
“O seu cunho fotográfico baseia-se em dois vectores: a simplicidade com que aborda o que deseja registar e também uma atenção e sensibilidade que tornam a captura fotográfica mais simples em algo que ultrapassa facilmente o “deja-vu” e nos transporta para estados de emoções e afectos de grande intensidade, a par de uma acuidade na visão da realidade que nos rodeia.”

António Miguel Pinheiro Botelho Moniz was born in Santo Tirso with a notorious ancestry in the photography field, passed to him by his paternal grandfather. He started to photograph with the intent of the simple photographic record, which began on his journey to the zero degrees of the Antarctic Polar Circle. As his interest in this field blossomed, he began to more actively dedicate his time to photography, by primarily engaging in the photographic cover of all of his travels, and by simultaneously attending several photography courses and workshops.
 
“His photographic imprint is based on two factors: the simplicity with which he approaches what he wishes to register; and the degree of attention and sensitivity that turn the most simple photographic coverage into something which easily transcends the “deja-vu” and takes us to an emotional and affection state of great intensity, along with an immense perceptiveness in the vision of the reality which surrounds us.”
